On April, 16th, 1952, Sam Phillips purchased 25 red 10” audiodiscs from W&W Dist. Co. for his Memphis Recording Service, where Elvis recorded his version of
My Happiness in the summer of 1953. What followed is history. This company was already founded back in 1950. Sam finally started the legendary SUN Record Company in February 1952. Both
companies were located at the Union Avenue in Memphis, Tennessee. This bill is dated just two month after SUN
was founded. This great artifact is really part of music history. Sam Phillips passed away at the age of 80 on July, 30th, 2003. Today this item is in the collection of a close friend of mine. Value: 100 - 150 US$ |
