COLLECTIBLES FROM SPEEDWAY

MGM - DOUGLAS LAURENCE PRODUCTION - June 1968

Belgium - Half-Sheet Movie Poster

Belgian movie poster 14 x 21” (half-sheet) for Speedway, published by MGM in 1968. Frank Sinatra´s daughter Nancy is Elvis´ co-star in this movie. The here seen poster has still the original paper border attached on top of the sheet, showing the times when the theatre screened the movie. In the lower left corner you can also find a stamp (for tax reasons?) and on the right a rubber stamp ROXY (probably the theatre).
Value: 75 - 125 US$

COLLECTIBLES FROM CHARRO
Speedway - Belgian Movie Poster

NATIONAL GENERAL PICTURES - HARRY CAPLAN PRODUCTION - March 1969

Mexico - Press Book

Original mexican press book from 1969 distributed by The Rank Organisation to promote Elvis´ 29th movie Rio Seco, the spanish title of Charro. The filming of Charro took place in Arizona, just a month after finishing the production of the NBC Special. The style of this colorful fold-out press book deviates from the american edition, especially as the frontside was printed in full color. It measures 10 x 16” and contains several articles in spanish language, photos and campaign mats on four pages. Hard to find artifact from Elvis´ movie career and a true collector´s item. Have a closer look.
Value: 50 - 70 US$

MGM - LESTER WELCH PRODUCTION - September 1969

USA - Window Card

Beautiful and very hard to find window card for The Trouble With Girls (and how to get into it) which was promoted under the headline Elvis ‘69. Featuring a slightly psychedelic touch,
this promotional campaign differs visible from the usual and more conservative posters promoting any other Elvis movie.
This window card measures 14 x 22” and was made of heavy cardboard. It was printed in the USA in 1969 and bears the number 69/182 . The upper area of the window card was blank, so that the theatre could glue extra paper sheets onto the poster. In this case it was the Mission Theatre.
Value: 150 - 175 US$

UNIVERSAL - UNIVERSAL PICTURES & NBC PRODUCTION - November 1969

Germany - Movie Information

Probably the rarest piece of Elvis Presley movie promotion in Germany. It was made in 1969 by Universal to promote Change Of Habit during the 69/70 season under the german title Asphalt Melodie. The fold-out sheet (91/2 x 13”) is so rare, because the movie never made it to the theatres at that time. It was first seen 1985 in Germany on television under a different title. The reason why the movie was dropped by Universal is, that at the same time, a similar german movie was played at the theatres. What a shame. Universal never published any promotion material for Change Of Habit in Germany, but instead they shredded all the prints and only a few copies survived. The beautiful painting continues on the last page. Page 2 and 3 feature press informations, where they say Elvis plays an author! Four-page sheet.
Value: 200 - 300 US$
