This great soundtrack from Japan was released in July 1961 and has a blue Compact 33 label with silver printing. The fantastic artwork is unique to anywhere else in the world. This is the insert cover with the black Victor logo, while Compact 33 and Elvis Presley are held in blue color. Disc came in a generic japanese Victor single sleeve.

CP-1005                   Jailhouse Rock - solid cover

This is the solid cover edition with Compact 33 and Elvis Presley in black and the Victor logo in blue color. Other differences between the covers are only derelict. Both discs are identical. The reason for a second edition remains to be unknown, especially as both sold at the same price and probably at the same time. There is no reference that one of them might be a re-release. This edition is the rarer one.

3-20153                    Llego El Rock And Roll

Even though the title announces The Arrival Of Rock And Roll, this sampler mainly features some mambo style music. It was the very first spanish record to feature Elvis and includes Heartbreak Hotel (Hotel Nostalgico). The other artists are Perez Prado, Eartha Kitt and Kay Starr. It was quite common in the early days, to introduce Elvis in Europe among other, already established artists. Remember such releases like the Rock And Roll Rhapsody from Germany or Italy. These kind of releases are the most sought after records from Europe. It was re-released in 1958 with only some minor changes on the cover and label, but this is the original first-pressing from 1956.
Value: 220 - 250 US$
