USA - Lobby Cards

Flaming Star was Elvis´ sixth movie and the second after his return from the army. After the preview of a version featuring four songs, Flaming Star was finally released with two songs. These lobby cards had been cut to size, as the white border is missing and so they measure 12 1/2 x 10”. These lobby cards are rubber-stamped in the top right corner.

Germany - Illustrierte Film-Bühne #6098 - Movie Program

This german movie program, with the beautiful colourized front, was printed and sold in 1962. Blue Hawaii premiered in Germany on April 21. As most of his earlier films, Blue Hawaii was pretty succesful for Elvis. Especially the soundtrack album sold so well, that it became one of the best selling records in history. Blue and white colored fold-out paper sheet (7 1/4 x 101/4”) with several pictures, movie informations and trivia inside.

USA - Merchandising Manual & Press Book

Probably among G.I. Blues the most sought after press book from Elvis´ 60´s movie career. Blue Hawaii was a very succesful movie, ranking at #2 in 1961 and #14 in 1962 by Variety. The soundtrack is still one of the most sold albums in Rock history and being a big smash in 1961. 6 pages b/w manual and press book. One sheet to be opened to the left and right. This manual was produced in 1961 by Paramount and the MPAA. This was printed in the USA and measures 121/4 x 19”. Page one features the cast, synopsis and some advertising billing. Publicity articles and pictures are found on page two. Page three and four show advertisement mats and the pages five and six feature informations of the promotion material wich was also available.

USA - United Artists Pressbook

This 1962 press book was printed in the USA by United Artists to promote Elvis´ 10th film. Kid Galahad co-stared Charles Bronson. The book has 12 pages in b/w, featuring several mats for the advertising campaign on the first seven pages, followed by the usual articles, photographs and promotional material, that could be ordered to promote the movie. Rare original merchandising manual and press book, published by Paramount and the MPAA, to promote the 1962 Hal Wallis production Girls! Girls! Girls!. The b/w manual has 24 pages and measures 121/4 x 15”. Page 2 has a fullsize ad for a nine foot standee. Newspaper articles with stills and movie infos can be found on pages 2-6 and even a for the women´s page section is included, followed by three pages with promtion and pre-ordering material. Unbelievable what they had on sale! The other pages feature more than
30 advertisement mats. The highlight has to be page 11,
wich can be folded out twice, so you can see 4 full pages.
